What It Does
SceneStasher lets you save any selection of layers and keyframes as a named button. Click that button later and it opens the right composition, selects the exact layers and keyframes, and puts you right back where you need to be. Works whether those layers are on the root timeline or buried five precomps deep.
It also addresses a genuine gap in After Effects: you cannot natively shift layers and keyframes together in time as a single unit. SceneStasher adds precision arrow controls that move a saved selection forward or backward in time while keeping all timing relationships intact.
Key Features
Adaptive Linking. Buttons track your saved selections even if you rename layers, reorder the stack, or shift them in time. The link survives normal project reorganization.
Self-Contained Data. All button data lives inside the .aep file itself. No external sidecar files, and everything carries over when you use File > Collect Files.
Precision Retiming. Select a complex block of animation spanning multiple layers and keyframes, then nudge the whole thing forward or backward in time without breaking relative timing.
Project Blueprint. Saved buttons double as navigation markers for teammates. Someone picking up your project can jump between labeled moments like “Title Reveal” or “Character Walk Cycle” without needing a walkthrough of your comp structure.
Multilingual Labels. Button names support 140+ languages, useful for studios working across international teams.
Who It’s For
Motion designers working on projects with many nested comps will get the most out of SceneStasher. Client revision sessions become faster when you can jump straight to the affected animation rather than hunting through timelines. Character animators can map specific body parts or actions as buttons for quick access during iteration. Teams handing off projects benefit from the built-in navigation structure that saved buttons provide.
