What It Does

Hypernova is an animated display typeface where each character contains two colors that animate in. You can set colors manually from a two-color palette or enable random selection from a six-color palette. The typeface works as a JSX file that integrates with Font Manager, letting you type naturally while the plugin handles animation and spacing.

Key Features

Expression-driven color control. Each glyph uses expressions to manage its two-color system. You can set two absolute colors manually or flip a switch to randomize colors from a six-color palette. The random seed control gives you repeatable variations.

Complete character set. Includes uppercase letters with accented variants (ÀÁÂÃÄÅÇÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÑÒÓÔÕÖÙÚÛÜ), numbers, and common punctuation. Each character is individually animated and packaged as both a JSX file and an organized AEP project.

Font Manager integration. Works with Font Manager to handle typing, tracking, line spacing, text alignment, and time offset. The system automatically creates a controller for Hypernova’s settings. You can also use the free Animography Controller to drag characters into compositions and parent controllers with one click.

Who It’s For

Designed for title sequences and display typography where you need geometric, high-contrast characters with motion. Works well for intros, music videos, or any project where static type isn’t enough but hand-animating every letter is too slow.

Pricing

Hypernova uses pay-what-you-want pricing. A seven-day free trial lets you test the A, B, and C characters (requires Font Manager, which also offers a trial). The typeface is no longer available for purchase on aescripts.

Designed by Giacomo Ribaudo. Compatible with After Effects 2020 and later.
