What It Does
Data Damage is a collection of 55 pre-animated uppercase letters, numbers, and common symbols that glitch into view with digital noise, grain, and pixelation. Each character arrives as a QuickTime video file at 600x600 pixels, making them portable beyond After Effects. You arrange them like a standard typeface, but every character has its own resolve animation baked in.
Key Features
Two timing options. Each of the 55 characters comes in two versions: a longer resolve around 30 frames and a shorter one around 18 frames. Pick the pace that fits your edit.
Color control. Characters glitch on white by default. Drop a fill effect on any character layer to change the color. No plugin chasing or expression tweaking.
Typeface tool compatibility. Works with both Characteristic and Font Manager, so you can type out words and stagger timing instead of manually placing each letter.
Self-contained. No third-party plugins required. The characters are pre-rendered QuickTime files, so you can use them in Premiere, Resolve, or anywhere else that accepts video layers.
Who It’s For
Motion designers working on tech interfaces, cyberpunk titles, or any project that needs a corrupted digital look. Because the animations are baked, you trade customization for speed. If you need precise control over the glitch pattern, this might not be your tool. If you want fast, consistent results, it’s a time-saver.
