What It Does
Collage Pro is a script for After Effects that handles the construction and animation of collage layouts, whether you’re building a photo grid, mood board, social media split-screen, or dynamic slideshow. It manages the spacing, sizing, and ordering of items across horizontal or vertical lines, and updates the layout non-destructively when you make changes.
Rather than manually placing and parenting dozens of layers, you work through a controller-based panel that keeps the layout logic intact as you iterate.
Key Features
Two workflow modes. The Easy Collage mode automatically distributes items across lines with equal counts and uniform sizing, suited for quick, consistent layouts. Advanced Collage gives you per-line item counts, adjustable line sizes with dividers, and manual control over placement and order.
Variable item and line sizes. You can resize individual items or entire lines and the surrounding layout adapts accordingly. No manual repositioning required after an adjustment.
Add, remove, and reorder. Items and lines can be added or removed at any point without rebuilding the layout from scratch. Move individual items or entire rows within the collage structure.
Animation with transform delays. Built-in controls let you animate offsets and apply staggered transform delays across items or lines, useful for reveal animations and dynamic entrances.
Static Collage conversion. When you need to break out of the controller system for fully manual editing, you can convert any layout to a static collage and take over from there.
Precomp support. Precomps behave the same as regular footage inside a collage, including resizing, positioning, and animation.
Who It’s For
Collage Pro suits motion designers who regularly produce photo grid animations, social media content with split layouts, or presentation-style slideshows. The Easy mode keeps things accessible for less complex projects, while Advanced mode covers more editorial or custom-structured designs. It works with After Effects 2020 through 2026.
