What It Does

Zercon generates glitch-style animations for text in After Effects. Each character uses random input to create unique animations, so typing the same letter twice produces different results. Built by Animography, a type foundry specializing in animated typefaces, it supports a full Latin character set with numbers, punctuation, and symbols.

Key Features

31 customizable controls. Adjust color, duration, stroke width, particle count, offset, and random seed to dial in the exact glitch aesthetic you need. The interface groups parameters logically for quick tweaking.

JSX and AEP formats. The lightweight JSX version integrates with Font Manager for typing, sizing, tracking, and alignment. The organized AEP file includes all animated characters as individual comps.

Full character set. Includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, accented characters (À, É, Ñ, etc.), and symbols (%, &, @, brackets, math operators, currency symbols). The static version offers a Latin extended set.

Workflow integration. Works with Font Manager (paid) for typing and auto-controller creation, or the free Animography Controller for drag-and-drop character placement with parenting.

Who It’s For

Useful for title animations, tech interfaces, cyberpunk aesthetics, music videos, or any project where you need distorted, fragmented text. The randomization keeps repeated letters from looking mechanical.

Pricing

Pay-what-you-want pricing, with a suggested price of $41. A free 7-day trial lets you test the A, B, and C characters (requires Font Manager, which also has a free trial). Order 4 or more Animography typefaces and get 25% off automatically.
