What It Does

Tracker Solver calculates true 3D positions from 2D tracking data by analyzing your camera’s movement. Point it at position keyframes from a 2D layer, and it generates a 3D layer placed correctly in your scene. This works with native After Effects cameras or those imported from third-party applications.

Key Features

Solve. Feed it 2D position keyframes (minimum three, though more improves accuracy), and Tracker Solver creates a 3D layer positioned correctly in your camera view. Particularly useful when you have good 2D tracks but need them as 3D reference points for integration work.

Unsolve. Reverses the process, generating a 2D layer with position and scale keyframes from a selected 3D layer in the camera view. Useful for flattening 3D motion back to 2D.

Mocha integration. Works with Mocha tracking data, letting you pipe external tracks through the solver.

The plugin works with any one-node After Effects camera and calculates positions based on both camera motion and settings. If your camera moves very little, use more 2D keyframes for better results. Animated zoom cameras are not supported.

Who It’s For

Compositors integrating 2D elements into 3D scenes, or anyone needing to convert planar tracking data into spatial coordinates. Helpful when you have solid 2D tracks from native AE tracking or Mocha but need 3D placement for matchmoving or scene setup.

Pricing

$30 for a perpetual license. A trial version is available with time limitations and a 10-keyframe minimum for solving.
