What It Does
Odometer generates animated counting sequences for numbers, words, and custom symbols. The plugin creates a custom composition texture where each character can be individually customized, giving you control over both the animation mechanics and visual appearance.
The free version handles numbers up to six figures. The paid version removes this limit, letting you count to 9 duotrigintillion (a number with 99 zeroes).
Key Features
Three animation modes. Numbers mode inherits your keyframe easing and counts with the timing you set. Words and Glyphs modes include full Penner easing presets for precise control over acceleration and deceleration.
Custom texture system. The plugin generates a composition containing 100 swappable characters. Replace any character with custom artwork. Background can be transparent or filled with your own texture.
Order modifiers. Choose from five animation patterns: reverse, random, increment, inside out, or outside in. Useful for creating staggered reveals or unconventional counting sequences.
Built-in effects. Perspective and feathering controls are included in the plugin interface. Motion blur is GPU-accelerated and renders quickly even on complex animations.
Technical specs. Supports 32-bit per channel color for high-quality compositing. Native Apple Silicon support. Works with integrated GPUs like Intel Iris.
Who It’s For
Useful for motion graphics projects that need animated statistics, scoreboards, countdowns, or financial data. The Glyphs mode works for non-numeric animations like cycling through symbols or letters.
The custom texture system makes it practical for branded work where you need specific typefaces or visual treatments.
Pricing
The plugin uses a pay-what-you-want model. The developer lists a suggested price of $39.95, but you choose the amount you pay. A free version is available with the six-figure limitation. Trial download includes full features for testing before purchase.
