What It Does

Naked-Eye 3D is a dockable ScriptUI panel for After Effects built specifically for anamorphic billboard and LED screen production. It covers two distinct stages of that workflow: matching an After Effects camera to a real-world perspective, and unwrapping marked screen surfaces into a flat, render-ready output composition.

It does not automatically convert footage into a naked-eye 3D illusion. What it does is handle the technical groundwork, giving you a matched camera and a clean LED canvas to work from.

Key Features

Camera Match module. Draw red, green, and blue perspective guide lines over a reference photo or plate, align them to the architecture, and generate a one-node After Effects camera that matches the scene. Duplicate guides for a more stable vanishing point calculation. Once the camera is created, you can place 3D text, objects, and animations directly into the correct perspective.

Section Chain Unwrap module. Mark your physical LED screen as a left-to-right chain of connected quad sections. The first section defines four corner points, and each additional section reuses the previous right edge, so adjacent screen areas stay perfectly connected with no gaps. Flat screens need one section, corner screens need two, and curved or segmented displays can use as many sections as required.

Custom output sizing. Each section can have its own width, while all sections share a single common output height. The script automatically builds individual unwrap compositions per section, then combines them into one flat LED output canvas.

Quick Rebuild. After adjusting screen corner points, a single action rebuilds the unwrap output without starting over.

The two modules work independently, so you can use just the camera matching side, just the unwrap side, or chain them together in a single production pipeline.

Who It’s For

Motion designers and technical artists producing content for naked-eye 3D LED billboards, corner screens, or curved/segmented LED displays. Also useful for anyone who needs to camera-match a real location in After Effects for anamorphic or projection-style work.

Requires After Effects 2020 or newer. Adobe After Effects 2024 or newer is recommended.

Pricing

Naked-Eye 3D is priced at $39.99 as a one-time purchase. A free trial is available with limited unwrap sections and a watermark on generated output.
