What It Does

Motion Upscaler is a CEP panel for After Effects that runs an AI upscaling model directly on your machine. Feed it PNG sequences, individual images, or video files, and it outputs enlarged versions at 2x, 3x, or 4x the original size. For PNG sequences, the alpha channel is fully preserved, so mattes come out sharp and ready to drop back into a composition without any cleanup.

The AI model was trained specifically on animated content, not photography. That means it handles 3D renders, anime, cartoons, and motion graphics better than general-purpose upscalers, which tend to blur edges or create artifacts on hard-edged animation.

Key Features

PNG sequence upscaling with alpha preservation. The panel reads your sequence directly from the After Effects project or filesystem, processes each frame through the local model, and keeps the alpha channel intact. No manual exporting or round-tripping through external tools.

Three upscale modes. Single image or sequence, multi-image batch, and direct video upscaling are all supported from the same panel.

2x, 3x, and 4x scale factors. Pick your output size, choose a destination folder, and a live system log shows progress as each frame processes.

Runs locally, no cloud uploads. The model runs on your machine, so nothing leaves your system. No subscription, no tokens, no account required after purchase.

Trained for animated content. The model is optimized for 3D renders, anime, cartoons, and sprite sheets rather than live-action footage or photography.

Who It’s For

Motion Upscaler is aimed at motion designers and VFX artists who need to enlarge assets without losing transparency. Common use cases include upscaling low-resolution 3D renders before compositing, enlarging sprite sheets for UI animation, and scaling up anime or cartoon assets sourced at lower resolutions. The batch image mode is also useful for anyone processing large sets of individual frames outside of a traditional PNG sequence workflow.
