What It Does

MoDeck Upfront converts After Effects motion graphics templates (mogrts) into web-based editing interfaces. Anyone with a browser can update text, swap images, and adjust properties in your templates without opening After Effects. The desktop app syncs mogrt files to an online editor where clients or team members input their changes, then renders finished videos automatically.

Drag-and-drop online editor. Non-technical users edit templates through a browser interface. They change text, upload images, adjust numbers, and preview results without touching After Effects.

Spreadsheet-driven batch rendering. Connect mogrt properties to spreadsheet columns to generate dozens or hundreds of video variations at once. Useful for creating localized versions or personalized content at scale.

Automatic rendering via desktop app. The desktop app runs in your system tray, detects edit requests from the online editor, renders them in After Effects, and uploads the finished videos. Editors receive download links when renders complete.

Template versioning and collaboration. Invite multiple users per template with different permission levels. Organize mogrts into folders, add comments and groups in the online interface, and manage who can edit what.

Custom branding (Enterprise). White-label the online editor with your logo and color scheme. Embed the editor on your own site or share templates via magic links.

API access (Enterprise). Trigger renders programmatically, pull data from external sources, and integrate with tools like Zapier. Supports ChatGPT-style requests for dynamic content generation.

Text-to-speech and transcription. Generate audio from text using various voice options. Transcribe existing audio and place word markers on the timeline for precise editing.

Advanced naming conventions. Define file naming rules with conditional logic. Set different naming structures for single renders versus batch outputs.

  • Free: Edit videos forever at no cost. Create templates free for 14 days. Limited to 2 templates, 1 user per template, 3 mogrts per template.
  • Pro ($19/month): Up to 5 templates, 3 users per template, 8 mogrts per template, generate 30 videos from spreadsheet data.
  • Enterprise ($79/month): Unlimited templates, unlimited users, unlimited mogrts, unlimited batch generation, custom branding, API access, embed on your site, custom notification emails.

Annual pricing available ($190 for Pro annual).
