What It Does
Mettle Flux generates 3D volumetric fractal flames directly in After Effects and Premiere Pro. It renders organic, flowing patterns suited for space backgrounds, nebulas, sci-fi atmospheres, and aurora borealis effects. The plugin supports traditional video, 360° monoscopic, and stereoscopic formats (Over/Under and Side-by-Side).
Key Features
Preset Panel. Apply animations with a single click from the dedicated panel. Additional presets are available in the Effects Control Panel in After Effects.
Globe Preview Panel. View your 360° work in real time as you design, making it easier to check coverage and composition.
Customization tools. Modify fractals using Force Field controls, up to five mutations per volume (with randomization), iterations, evolutions, lighting, and symmetry. The plugin includes recursive zoom and support for OBJ files as Force Field shapes.
GPU-accelerated rendering. Volumetric rendering runs on the GPU, significantly reducing render times. Compatible GPUs include NVIDIA (3GB+ VRAM), AMD (2GB+), and Intel (2GB dedicated).
Native 3D camera support. Works with After Effects’ built-in 3D camera system. Premiere Pro includes a built-in camera.
Advanced rendering modes. Choose from Depth, Anaglyph, Equiluma, or Cross Section modes. Control clipping planes or use OBJ shapes for clipping.
Audio-reactive compatibility. Pair with tools like Trapcode Soundkeys to sync fractal animations to audio.
Who It’s For
Useful for motion designers and VFX artists creating sci-fi sequences, title backgrounds, or immersive 360° experiences. The plugin’s procedural nature makes it practical for generating abstract organic visuals that evolve over time.
