What It Does

KEYboard maps common keyframe operations to keyboard shortcuts in After Effects. Instead of clicking through menus to adjust easing, copy keys, or mirror animations, you press a key combination. The plugin handles repetitive keyframe tasks, set ease values, clone keys, mirror keys, shift timing, randomize values, without interrupting your animation flow.

Key Features

Keyframe easing shortcuts. Set ease-in, ease-out, or custom easing values directly from your keyboard. You can define two different velocity values for incoming and outgoing easing when using custom ease-in-out functions.

Clone and mirror keys. Duplicate selected keyframes or flip them across the timeline. The plugin can automatically select newly copied keyframes if you enable that option in preferences.

Shift and randomize. Move keyframes forward or backward in time, or add random variation to keyframe values. KEYboard shows an alert when processing large numbers of layers to keep you informed.

QuickVal. Adjust values with a constrain proportions mode for maintaining aspect ratios.

Fool-parent and fool-paste. Parent layers or reposition them in the layer stack using a two-step selection process. Select a layer, press the shortcut, then click the target layer to complete the action.

Custom shortcuts. The plugin provides functions mapped to Q, A, and Z rows on your keyboard, plus a custom row you can configure for your most-used operations.

Persistent window position. KEYboard remembers where you last closed its panel and reopens there, useful for multi-monitor setups.

Who It’s For

Animators who work with keyframes constantly. If you’re adjusting easing curves, copying timing patterns between layers, or managing keyframe positions across multiple properties, KEYboard eliminates the mouse trips to menus. Motion designers building complex character rigs or kinetic typography will find the mirroring and cloning functions particularly useful.

The plugin assumes you’re comfortable setting up keyboard shortcuts in After Effects and want more control over your keyframe workflow than the built-in shortcuts provide.
