What It Does
Express Table converts CSV files into animated After Effects compositions. Point it at a spreadsheet, apply a table template, and it builds the animated table automatically. The plugin handles any CSV encoding and supports all languages, from Latin to Cyrillic to East Asian scripts.
Table templates live as XML files. The plugin includes one basic template, with free downloadable packs available separately. You can modify existing templates or build custom ones to match your project style.
Key Features
CSV import with one-click filling. Load any CSV file and the plugin populates your table template with the data. No manual text layer creation or copying values between cells.
Template system. Templates define cell structure, animation timing, and styling. Import and export templates between projects. The XML format makes templates portable and editable outside After Effects if needed.
Frozen cells via config. A config marker controls which cells stay fixed (headers, footers) versus which multiply to accommodate data rows. Set block_first to freeze header rows, block_last for footers. Default freezes the first cell only.
Empty cell handling. Enable disable_empty in the config and cells with blank CSV entries hide their shape layers automatically. Useful for sparse data sets or optional fields.
Universal encoding support. Works with any character encoding your CSV uses. Import Japanese pricing tables, Cyrillic names, or emoji-filled social data without conversion steps.
Compact interface. The UI fits in a dockable panel without clutter. Settings are contextual, showing only what matters for the current template.
