What It Does
Enigma generates animated pixel-style text directly in After Effects. Drag characters into a composition, adjust animation timing and colors, and create titles with a retro digital aesthetic. The plugin includes both in and out animations that differ slightly, adding visual variety to text reveals and exits.
You can control the out-animation with a 0-100% slider, making it easy to time text exits precisely. The typeface works as shape layers, so it scales without quality loss and integrates with mattes and textures.
Key Features
Color controls. Adjust the main fill, flicker accent, and stroke colors independently. Toggle color layers on or off to create different looks.
Stroke customization. Add outlines to characters and control stroke width with a slider. Useful for creating outlined or doubled effects.
Animation slider. The out-animation control lets you set exit timing from 0 to 100%, separate from the in-animation.
Full character set. Includes uppercase and lowercase with accents (À, É, Ñ, etc.), numbers, and extensive punctuation. Covers common symbols like €, ¥, arrows, and mathematical operators.
JSX format. Works with Font Manager for text-style typing instead of dragging individual characters. The package also includes an organized .aep file with all characters.
Animography Controller compatibility. Use the free Controller tool to quickly parent settings across multiple characters.

Pay-what-you-want pricing. The suggested price is $27 for the animated version, but you can choose your own amount. A static (non-animated) version is available for $11, or get both for $35. Ordering four or more Animography typefaces together gives you a 25% discount.
