What It Does
EFX AB Compare lets you compare the current layer (or an entire composition via an Adjustment Layer) against a reference layer. You can switch between split-screen mode for side-by-side evaluation or difference mode to visualize discrepancies between the two sources.
Key Features
Split-screen comparison. View the active layer and reference layer side by side within the same frame.
Difference visualization. Highlights the pixel-level differences between the two layers, useful for spotting subtle changes or errors during compositing.
Adjustment Layer support. Apply the effect to an Adjustment Layer to compare entire compositions rather than single layers.
Who It’s For
This plugin is practical for compositors working on stereoscopic 3D projects or anyone needing to verify render passes, check color corrections, or QC multiple versions of a shot. It’s also useful for spotting artifacts in keying work or confirming that render elements align correctly.
Pricing
This is a pay-what-you-want plugin with a suggested minimum of $2.99. Individuals can pay any amount, though businesses and teams must pay the suggested price to receive a valid license. Note that it is not compatible with CS6 or newer, only CS5.5, CS5, and CS4.
