What It Does

Divide & Corner splits a layer into a grid using masks or shape layers. You define the grid by columns, rows, and margins, then choose from six shape types (rectangles, circles, hexagons, triangles, diamonds, and rounded rectangles) and five corner styles. The plugin can keep everything on one layer or split into separate layers, with optional null parenting and color controls.

Key Features

Six shape types and five corner styles. Pick from rectangles, circles, hexagons, triangles, diamonds, and rounded rectangles. Corners can be straight, rounded, or custom styled. Each shape responds to your grid settings and margins.

Create perfect shapes. Without this option, circles stretch to fit rectangular layers, and other shapes distort based on your grid. Enabling it forces circles to stay round, hexagons to maintain proper proportions, regardless of layer dimensions or row/column counts.

Layering options. Keep all cuts on the original layer as masks, or split them into separate layers. When layering is enabled, you can parent everything to a null object for unified control.

Color control via expressions. When splitting into layers, the plugin can add a Fill effect to each piece and link them all to an adjustment layer. Change one color swatch to update the entire grid.

Customizable collage. Creates a dynamic collage effect tied to a null layer. Modify spacing, rotation, or other collage parameters after creation without redoing the split.

Anchor point positioning. Choose where the anchor point sits on each divided piece: center, corners, or edges. Useful for radial animations or precise transforms.

Who It’s For

Motion designers building title cards, grid layouts, or geometric transitions. Useful for creating modular compositions where you need control over individual pieces, like animated photo grids or segmented reveal effects.
