What It Does

CRT TV Emulator recreates the look of old cathode ray tube monitors and TVs. Apply it to any footage and you get pixelated screens, scanlines, light flickers, and glitches that mimic vintage display technology. Works as a drag-and-drop effect inside After Effects.

Key Features

Pixel-level control. Adjust pixel shape, form, spacing, and color individually. You can dial in the exact RGB subpixel structure of different CRT types.

Screen distortion and glitches. Add barrel distortion, chromatic aberration, and random signal interference. Animate glitches for VHS-style degradation or simulate failing hardware.

Flicker and scanlines. Control brightness flicker rate and intensity. Overlay moving scanlines with adjustable speed and opacity to match different monitor refresh rates.

High-resolution output. Despite the retro look, all effects render at your comp resolution. No pre-baked textures, so the result stays sharp when scaled.

Useful for music videos, retro title cards, horror effects, or any project needing that 1980s computer terminal aesthetic.
