What It Does
Comp Replicator converts spreadsheet data into multiple After Effects compositions from a single template. Import a CSV file, map columns to layers, and watch as the script generates dozens or hundreds of customized versions with different text, images, or footage. Each composition replicates your template structure while applying unique content from each row of your spreadsheet.
Key Features
Spreadsheet-driven duplication. Import .csv, .tsv, or .txt files and automatically generate compositions based on each row. The script maps column headers to layer names or tagged layers in your template, replacing text content or swapping media sources.
Source swapping. Replace layer content by searching the project for existing items by name, or import files directly by specifying file paths in your spreadsheet. Works with text layers, footage, and nested compositions.
Nested layer support. Target layers buried inside pre-comps without flattening your structure. The script automatically replicates entire nested composition hierarchies, maintaining your template’s organization.
Tagged layers. Tag specific template layers to speed up the mapping process. Instead of typing layer names repeatedly, tag them once and select from a dropdown when configuring your spreadsheet columns.
Auto-populated interface. The panel reads your CSV headers and creates tabs automatically. No manual UI configuration needed, the script adapts to your data structure.
Render queue integration. Add generated compositions directly to the render queue, send them to Media Encoder, or replicate existing render items with customized output settings for each composition.
Update existing compositions. If you modify your spreadsheet and re-import, the script updates previously generated compositions rather than creating duplicates.
Preference system. Save default settings for template names, CSV paths, naming schemes, and render options. Configure once, then generate and render in a single click for recurring projects.
Who It’s For
Useful for any project requiring multiple versions of the same composition structure. Common scenarios include localized title cards across different languages, social media posts with varying text and images, data visualization updates from changing datasets, credit sequences from cast lists, or client deliverables with personalized content.
Pricing
Comp Replicator uses a pay-what-you-want model. Individual users can choose their own price, while businesses and teams pay the suggested $49.00 for a valid license.
