What It Does
Comp Buddy adds edge blur and light wrap to layers that need to blend into your composite. Apply these effects to 3D renders, text, shape layers, or any layer with an alpha channel. The plugin targets a specific compositing problem: crisp edges that look cut out instead of naturally integrated.
Key Features
Edge Blur. Click once to soften layer edges. Adjust the Edge Width parameter to control how far the blur extends from the alpha boundary. Useful when 3D renders or vector shapes feel too sharp against background plates.
Light Wrap. Apply light wrap in one click. This effect lets background light spill onto foreground elements, helping them sit naturally in the scene. The plugin handles the matte work automatically.
Alpha-aware processing. Both effects work with any layer that has transparency information. Text layers, shape layers, keyed footage, or imported renders all work without additional prep.
The controls are minimal by design. Edge Width is the main parameter for fine-tuning the blur. No multi-step setup or nested comps required.
