What It Did
bq_Shape Layer Navigator simplified editing shape layers in After Effects by providing targeted navigation and selection controls. Instead of manually drilling through nested groups, the plugin offered button-driven commands to jump between elements, move properties, and select by type.
Key Features
Isolation and navigation. Isolate all shape layers to focus your timeline. Jump between shape groups with next/previous buttons, or skip directly to first, middle, or last groups. Select all groups at once or filter to shape contents only.
Property selection by type. Select all paths, strokes, fills, colors, or shape transforms across your composition. Ctrl+click to narrow further (e.g., strokes by width or color, paths with expressions, fills by opacity).
Move and reorganize. Move properties up or down within groups, or shift them in and out of parent groups. This helps restructure complex shape hierarchies without manual copy-paste.
Expression linking. Link property values to the first or last selected property using expressions. Works with any matching value type (colors to colors, transforms to transforms).
Batch editing. Use Quick Rename to name multiple properties in succession. Edit Value steps through selected properties, letting you update values one after another without re-selecting.
Customizable interface. Rearrange buttons, hide unused controls, or toggle between icon and text display. The panel updated in real time as you configured it.
Who It Was For
Motion designers working with intricate shape animations, such as logo reveals, kinetic typography, or layered infographics. Useful when managing dozens of nested shape groups and needing rapid access to specific property types.
Pricing
