What It Does

Mask Avenger 2 breaks the standard path constraints of After Effects masks by letting you keyframe, ease, and control each vertex (and its tangents) independently. Masks can move in 3D space, link to tracker points or null layers, and respond to expressions without needing workarounds. Works with both standard masks and shape layers.

Key Features

Individual vertex control. Keyframe each mask point separately. Choose to control just vertices or include tangents for precise bezier shaping.

3D mask animation. Move mask points in 3D space without null layers or complex expression rigs. Supports camera rotation and point of interest.

RAM preview conservation. Version 2 introduced a new baking system that preserves RAM previews. When you modify a mask, it updates the current frame instantly and bakes the rest of the timeline in the background, so you can keep working.

Expression and tracking integration. Pick-whip mask vertices to tracker points. Integrated scripts help write expressions and link masks to null layers. Works with standard After Effects expressions.

Freeze mode. Share projects with users who don’t own the plugin by freezing the animated mask data.

Mask Reader. Extract position and orientation data from any point along a mask path for advanced rigging.

Shape Avenger. Apply the same individual vertex control to shape layers.

Smart interpolation. Choose volume conservation based on gravity center, or use a keyframable anchor point for independent control.

Who It’s For

Useful for character rigging when combined with BAO Mask 3D Warper. Animators working with tracked footage can link mask vertices to tracking data. Anyone needing precise mask deformations beyond standard path animation.
