What It Does
Bake Parented Transform converts a parented layer’s motion into keyframes on an unparented layer. When you need to break parent-child relationships but keep the resulting animation intact, this script does the conversion automatically. It handles position, scale, and rotation properties, including complex scenarios like animated parent rotation.
The script works on both parented and unparented layers. For parented layers, it bakes the inherited motion and removes the parent link simultaneously. For unparented layers, it adds keyframes across all frames or converts 3D orientation into Euler rotations.
Key Features
Property selection. Process individual transform properties (position, scale, rotation) or all at once. Opacity is excluded from processing.
Automatic unparenting. The script removes parent relationships while baking their motion effects into keyframes, giving you a standalone animated layer.
3D layer support. Converts orientation to Euler rotations, making 3D animations easier to work with and export.
Works on any layer. Even non-parented layers benefit, as the script can place keyframes at every frame or convert orientation-based animations.
Who It’s For
Useful when exporting layers to other applications, precomposing animated elements that need to maintain their motion, or simplifying complex parent-driven setups. If you’ve ever unparented a layer and watched your animation break, this solves that problem.
