What It Does

anyFX360 lets you apply standard 2D effects to 360° monoscopic equirectangular footage without the visible seams that normally appear at the edges. The plugin uses an advanced blending technique that internally upscales composition resolution to blend effects seamlessly across the entire frame. This works with native After Effects filters and third-party plugins from Red Giant, Boris FX, RE:Vision Effects, and others.

Instead of being limited to After Effects’ built-in immersive filters, you can now use artist simulations, glows, blurs, lens effects, and stylize filters on 360° content as if they were designed for it.

Key Features

One-click setup. Apply anyFX360 to your 360° footage and it creates a specially integrated adjustment layer in edit view. Apply any 2D effect to this layer and the plugin handles the seam removal automatically.

Works with any compatible effect. The tool supports hundreds of effect plugins. If an effect works with your 360° footage (even with seams), it will work with anyFX360. You can combine multiple effects and keyframe animate them normally.

Integrated panel. The After Effects panel lists your compositions and lets you switch between edit and output views. It includes support for undo groups, edge graphics for better visibility, source layer access (shift-click on output), and trim handling for nested compositions.

Pole optimizations and blending adjustments. Fine-tune how the plugin handles the top and bottom poles of your 360° sphere, plus optional blending controls for specific scenarios.

The plugin increases internal composition resolution to achieve seamless blending, which means higher memory and processing requirements compared to standard compositing. 3D effects are supported but not the intended use case.

Who It’s For

Motion designers and VFX artists working with 360° or VR content who need access to the full range of After Effects effects without dealing with visible seams. Useful if you’re creating immersive experiences but don’t want to be limited to 360°-specific filters.

Note: Current version supports monoscopic 2:1 footage only. Stereo support and transitions are not available yet.
