What It Does

Razor is a retired animated typeface inspired by 1980s design aesthetics. The plugin includes both animated and static versions of the typeface, covering A-Z characters and 0-9 numerals. As a bonus, the animated version includes sunglass and flamingo icons (because no eighties typeface would be complete without them).

The typeface comes in both traditional composition format and the newer JSX format, which integrates with Font Manager for lighter file sizes and better workflow.

Key Features

Customization controls. Adjust color, line thickness, and animation completion to match your project’s needs.

JSX format support. The lightweight JSX version works seamlessly with Font Manager and was built using compCode.

Static fallback. Includes an OpenType font file (.otf) for non-animated use cases.

Expression-driven. Uses expression-based controls for precise animation timing and customization.

Who It’s For

Motion designers working on retro-themed title sequences, 80s-inspired music videos, or projects needing geometric animated typography. The typeface’s strong, angular letterforms work well for headers and display text rather than body copy.

Pricing

Razor has been permanently retired and is no longer available for purchase. It was originally offered as a pay-what-you-want typeface. Animography offered a 25% discount when purchasing four or more typefaces from their collection.
