What It Does

WIR3D generates parametric 3D wireframe shapes from a single shape layer in After Effects. Adjust the number of sides to transform a simple box into a cylinder, or modify loop position, scale, and rotation to create custom wireframe forms. The plugin keeps everything on one shape layer, which means you can apply repeaters, effects, and other standard After Effects tools.

Key Features

Parametric control. Change the number of sides to morph between different 3D shapes (box, cylinder, etc.). Position, scale, and rotate individual loops to create your own variations.

Single shape layer workflow. Because WIR3D outputs to a standard shape layer, you can add repeaters, expressions, and effects like you would with any other shape. This keeps your project organized and makes animation straightforward.

KBar compatible. Ships with an SVG icon for KBar integration.

Lottie export support. Works with Bodymovin when ‘Convert expressions to keyframes’ is enabled. Note: changing the number of sides can create glitches in Lottie due to hold frame handling.

Who It’s For

Motion designers building technical or sci-fi graphics that need editable wireframe geometry. Also useful for anyone who wants 3D shapes that remain easy to modify without jumping into a separate 3D application.

Pricing

WIR3D uses a pay-what-you-want model. The suggested price is $16.50, but you choose what to pay. Each license includes 2 activations, so you can run it on two machines. Works with After Effects 2020 through 2025 on both Windows and Mac, including the Legacy Expression engine.

Note: WIR3D is designed for stroke-based wireframes. Adding fills produces unpredictable results because After Effects struggles with complex paths.
