What It Does

Wave-o-Matic generates natural wave motion on any layer in After Effects. It simulates objects floating on water, flying through air, or swaying with physics-based movement. The plugin works non-destructively with keyframed layers and those using expressions, without altering your existing animation data.

Key Features

Positional and rotational waves. Control both position and rotation with separate customizable settings. Adjust amplitude, frequency, and direction to match your animation needs.

2D and 3D support. Works automatically with 2D layers and 3D layers, including full 360-degree angle control. Compatible with cameras and 3D space.

Non-destructive workflow. Apply wave motion to keyframed layers without breaking your animation. Works alongside layers with expressions, maintaining all existing controls.

Impact sliders. Control how much wave motion affects each layer with on/off settings and intensity sliders. Useful when you need subtle movement or want to dial in specific amounts.

Rand-o-Matic. Add randomized variation to wave patterns for more organic, unpredictable motion. Particularly useful for simulating flight paths or natural floating behavior.

Controllers and smart bin. Optional controllers for managing complex setups, plus organizational tools to keep your project clean.

Who It’s For

Character animators rigging secondary motion like hair, clothing, or accessories. Motion designers creating floating logos or titles. Anyone who needs objects to appear weightless or affected by invisible forces without manually keyframing every movement.

Pricing

$24.99 for a single user license. A free trial is available with position-only controls (rotation features disabled, no controller support).
