What It Does

Walker Tool generates walk and run cycle animations for rigged characters. Instead of animating leg movements frame by frame, you configure a few settings and let the script create the cycle automatically. It works with side-angle and three-quarter-angle character views.

Key Features

Rigging tool compatibility. The script works with Limber, PuppetTools, RubberHose, and Duik. It’s particularly effective with Limber and RubberHose because those tools support stretch, which creates more natural-looking leg movement during walk cycles.

Double-bounce control. Position and rotation bouncing can be enabled or disabled independently. This lets you create variations like a standard walk, a ninja run, or a backward walk by adjusting how the character’s body moves during the cycle.

FX control interface. Version 2.0 introduced an effects control panel that organizes all animation parameters in one place. You can adjust timing, stride length, and bounce settings without diving into expression code.

No keyframe animation. The script generates the entire cycle procedurally, so you’re not setting dozens of keyframes manually. If you need to adjust the walk later, you change the parameters rather than rekeying animation.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion designers working on character animation projects where walk and run cycles appear frequently. If you’re producing explainer videos, commercial spots, or animated shorts with rigged characters, this script handles the repetitive leg animation work.

Works best when you already have a character rigged with one of the compatible tools. You’ll still need to animate upper body movement, head turns, and arm swings, but the leg work is automated.
