What It Does
Vizual PixelPerfect upscales pixel art and low-resolution graphics without the blurring that comes from standard scaling methods. It’s built for both After Effects and Premiere Pro, where nearest neighbor upscaling isn’t always available or convenient.
The plugin gives you three upscaling algorithms: nearest neighbor for the classic square pixel look, linear interpolation for smoother results, and nearest neighbor with antialiasing controlled by an Edge Blur slider. After Effects users get GPU acceleration via Metal on macOS and CUDA/OpenCL on Windows.
Key Features
Three upscaling algorithms. Nearest neighbor produces the sharp, blocky aesthetic that defines pixel art. Linear interpolation smooths edges for a softer result. The antialiased nearest neighbor option lets you control edge blur with a slider.
Cross-platform GPU acceleration in After Effects. Rendering is faster through Metal on macOS and CUDA or OpenCL on Windows. Premiere Pro handles upscaling from the center of the original image, while After Effects upscales from your layer anchor point (set in the original resolution).
Multi-Frame Rendering support. After Effects 2022 and later can render multiple frames simultaneously, making preview and export faster.
Who It’s For
Useful for editors working with retro game footage, 8-bit graphics, or any low-res source that needs to scale cleanly to modern resolutions. Also applies to motion designers who want precise control over how small assets scale up in 4K or higher comps.
Pricing
Vizual PixelPerfect is free. No trial period, no feature limits. Compatible with After Effects and Premiere Pro from 2020 to 2025 versions on macOS (including Apple Silicon) and Windows 10/11.
