What It Does

Utopian builds each character from simple rectangle shapes, creating a modular geometric typeface with matching animations. Created by Alex Trochut and Pablo Lozano, it draws from Mondrian, Sol Lewitt, and De Stijl principles. Each glyph reveals through expression-driven masks, keeping flourishes minimal and focusing on primary shapes.

Key Features

Four-color customization. Set colors through expression controls, allowing you to match brand palettes or create visual variety without rebuilding characters.

JSX and .aep formats. The lightweight JSX version integrates with Font Manager for typing workflow, while the organized .aep file gives you direct access to each animated character for manual placement.

Font Manager integration. Type with Utopian like a standard font, then adjust size, tracking, line spacing, alignment, and time offset from a single panel. Font Manager auto-generates a controller for customization settings. Alternatively, use the free Animography Controller to drag characters into compositions and parent controls instantly.

Extended character set. Includes uppercase letters with accents (À Á Ö Ø etc.), numerals, punctuation, and special characters like % & @ © { } [ ] / \ + × ÷ = and currency symbols ($ € ¥ £ ¢).

Who It’s For
