What It Does
Universal Template AutoFill scans After Effects projects and detects all user-editable elements, text layers, image and video placeholders, and effect controls, then brings them into a single panel for bulk editing. Instead of opening dozens of precomps to replace content manually, you fill everything in one place and apply changes across the entire project.
This is particularly useful for commercial templates from Envato or VideoHive, slideshows, social media packs, and any project with many repeated placeholders spread across multiple compositions.
Key Features
Automatic placeholder detection. The extension analyzes your project and finds all text layers, image/logo slots, video placeholders, and supported effect controls (sliders, angles, points, dropdowns) without manual hunting.
Images Folder + Auto-fill Media. Set a folder path once, then reference files by simple names like photo_01.jpg or even photo_01. The extension resolves paths automatically and can batch-fill placeholders from the folder with sorting options (by name, date, or randomized) and rules for overwriting or only filling empty slots.
CSV and XML import/export. Export the template structure to a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel SpreadsheetML), fill the values in the “New” column, then import the file back. All fields populate instantly. This workflow is ideal for text-heavy templates or batch editing multiple projects with similar structures.
Effect controls editing. Detected effect controls appear in the Controls tab, so you can adjust slider values, angles, points, and dropdown selections without navigating to individual layers.
Review before applying. The Review feature shows pending changes before you commit them, and an optional backup option provides a safety net for complex projects.
Manual composition addition. If the auto-detection misses a composition, you can add it manually using Add Selected.
