What It Does
TranslateExpressions automatically adjusts expression control names to match your After Effects interface language. When you receive a project created in a different language version of After Effects, expression controls (like sliders, checkboxes, and color pickers) often display in the original language, breaking references or making the project harder to read. This script translates those control names on the fly.
Key Features
Language matching. The script detects your After Effects language setting and translates expression control labels accordingly. If you’re running After Effects in French and open a project built in English, slider names and other controls will display in French.
Wide compatibility. Works with After Effects versions from CS6 through 2025, covering over a decade of releases.
Who It’s For
Useful for editors and studios working with international teams or using project templates from different regions. If you frequently encounter expression controls labeled in languages you don’t use, this removes the friction.
