What It Does
TrackerViz provides a set of tools for working with positional data from trackers, layers, and mask paths. Originally designed to improve tracking workflows (like averaging multiple trackers for better accuracy), it now handles conversions between different data types. You can create solids at specific positions, link layers to tracker data, convert path vertices to trackers, or turn tracked motion into animated masks.
The script treats layer positions interchangeably with tracker attach points, which means most functions work with either tracking data or layer position data.
Key Features
Average Position creates a new solid at the center point of selected layers or track points. Useful for combining multiple noisy trackers into a single stable reference.
Position & Rotation generates a solid at the first selection’s position, rotated toward the second selection. Position & Scale does the same but scales the solid to match the distance between two points. Position & Rotation & Scale combines both behaviors.
Track Combine creates a new layer that blends a child layer’s position with its parent layer’s position.
Corner Pin and CC Power Pin create comp-sized solids with corner pin effects applied, linking the four corners to four selected layers or track points in order (upper-left, upper-right, lower-left, lower-right).
Shape To Tracker converts each vertex of a selected mask path into a track point. Shape To Layers creates a solid at each vertex (works with animated paths). Track Points To Shape converts selected trackers into an animated mask path. Layers To Shape creates a mask path with vertices linked to layer positions.
Who It’s For
Useful for VFX artists doing screen replacements or corner pins, motion designers building animated masks from layer motion, and anyone refining tracking data by averaging multiple tracks or visualizing trackers as solids for easier control.
