What It Does

Taxon organizes After Effects layers by shared properties. Select all shape layers, every layer with a specific label color, or layers sharing the same blend mode. Instead of hunting through a crowded comp, filter by attributes.

The panel works through tabs. Type selects by layer type (shape, camera, null, text). Name finds layers by their name. Attributes filters layers that share properties like locked, visible, or have parents. Label Color sorts by label, Blend Mode by blending method. The Custom tab combines any of these into saved presets.

Useful for large compositions with dozens of layers, versioning workflows, or cleaning up inherited projects where naming conventions vary.

Key Features

Type-based selection. Pick all cameras, nulls, or text layers at once. Skip manual clicking.

Attribute filtering. Find all locked layers, hidden layers, or layers with parents. Good for comp hygiene before archiving.

Label color sorting. Select every red or blue labeled layer. Works well when you color-code by task or department.

Blend mode grouping. Grab all layers using screen, multiply, or any other blend mode. Helps when adjusting composite logic.

Custom tabs. Combine filters from multiple categories into reusable presets. Save common selections as one-click buttons.

Who It’s For

Motion designers managing complex comps. Editors working with templates built by others. Anyone tired of selecting layers one at a time.
