What It Does

Swissd scales text layers to create fixed-width layouts where every line occupies the same horizontal space. Works by adjusting the scale property of text layers rather than changing font size, making it useful for typographic experiments and structured text designs.

Key Features

Buzz Generator. A randomized text generator that cycles through fonts and outputs placeholder content. Useful for testing layouts or creating abstract typographic animations. You can define custom text arrays via JSON if you need specific content patterns.

File Import. Read text from external files where each line becomes one line of scaled text. Works well for client-supplied copy or versioned content.

Auto Color. Automatically applies color schemes based on HSL offset rules you define. Controls hue rotation, saturation range, and lightness variation for quick color treatments.

3D Extrusion. Stacks precomped layers in Z-space to create depth. You define the extrusion depth in layers (the script warns that 300+ layers can be resource-intensive). Can add cameras, lights, and separators between layers.

Background & Lighting. Optional settings to add background solids, 50mm cameras, and lighting rigs to comps in one click.

Who It’s For

Motion designers working with kinetic typography or Swiss-style layouts. Also useful for anyone experimenting with type as texture or needing quick fixed-width compositions for titles.
