What It Does
Subtitle Pro handles the full subtitle workflow directly inside After Effects and Premiere Pro. Import .srt files or other formats, write text from scratch, translate with one click, adjust timing, and apply animation templates. It works in both applications, though some features (animation templates, marker sync) currently only function in After Effects.
Key Features
SRT import and export. Bring in subtitle files in any popular format, including all text encodings (UTF-8, UTF-16, ANSI). Export back out in the same formats.
YouTube caption importer. Paste a YouTube link and pull subtitles directly, with support for all available languages.
One-click translation. Translate subtitle text inside the plugin without leaving your editing app.
Time sync and overlap detection. Shift entire rows or selected ranges forward or backward. The plugin identifies overlapping subtitle times so you can fix conflicts before rendering.
Animation templates (After Effects only). Choose from five categories: classic subtitles, simple animation, fading animation, abstract animation, and lower thirds. Each template can be customized with your own settings.
Marker control (After Effects only). Sync subtitles with composition markers for precise timing. Edit markers and the plugin updates automatically.
Auto line break and time indicator. The plugin can automatically break long lines and shows a time indicator for positioning subtitles on the timeline.
Table view with search and autosave. Work in a spreadsheet-style interface. Search text quickly. The plugin saves your work automatically so you don’t lose progress.
Who It’s For
Useful if you’re adding captions to tutorial videos, localizing content in multiple languages, or creating stylized lower thirds for social media. The animation templates suit motion graphics work where standard captions feel too plain. If you frequently translate or adjust timing across many subtitle files, the batch shift and translation features save repetitive work.
Animation templates and marker sync only work in After Effects right now. Premiere Pro users get the import/export, translation, and timing tools but not the animated presets.
Pricing
Pricing is pay-what-you-want, so you decide the amount. The plugin lists at $49.99 as a standard one-time purchase. No subscription or recurring fees.
