What It Does

STRUCTURA reads your After Effects project structure and organizes loose files into logical folder hierarchies. It uses fuzzy logic to determine where assets belong based on context, filename patterns, and existing folder structures. Think of it as an assistant who understands project organization conventions without needing explicit instructions.

The plugin protects existing renders, dynamic links, and complex rigs during reorganization. It also recognizes third-party tools like Limber and Deekay Tool, leaving their structures untouched.

Key Features

STRUCTURA offers three organization modes:

Smart Anchor. Scans your current folder structure and sorts loose items into appropriate locations using pattern recognition. Ambiguous files get collected in a _SOURCE folder rather than being misplaced.

Mirror Source. Recreates your hard drive’s folder structure inside the Project Panel with exact 1:1 matching. Useful when teams need After Effects projects to mirror file server organization.

Blueprints. Restructures projects using predefined templates. The VFX preset creates industry-standard hierarchies like 01_SHOTS, 02_ASSETS, and 03_REF for shot-based workflows. Load custom .json templates to map the fuzzy logic to your own naming conventions, such as routing footage into a 02_RUSHES folder.

The plugin’s safety protocols prevent reorganization of root-level folders and protect third-party tool structures from modification.

Who It’s For

Motion designers and editors who inherit disorganized projects or work with teams that need consistent file structures. VFX artists working on shot-based projects will find the Blueprints mode particularly relevant.

Also useful for studios establishing project organization standards, since the custom .json templates let you define company-specific conventions.
