What It Does

SnapFrame exports any frame from your After Effects timeline as an image file. Position the playhead where you want, click the export button, and get a PNG with custom settings. The script can auto-save to your project folder and optionally import the image back into your project or active composition.

Key Features

Custom naming and quality. Type the image name you want and select quality settings. The script supports 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit depth without color shifts, and handles duplicate filenames by appending numbers automatically.

Flexible save locations. Export to your After Effects project folder or specify a custom path. You can save the path for repeated use or change it per export.

Auto-import options. Choose whether to import the exported image into your project panel, drop it directly into the active comp, or skip importing entirely. Helpful when you need reference stills or want to composite the frame immediately.

Adaptive UI. The panel adjusts its layout for portrait and landscape orientations. A settings tab lets you customize delay times between export and import (useful if your drive is slow), toggle success notifications, and organize imported images in a dedicated folder.

Default and reset buttons. Restore default settings with one click instead of adjusting each option manually. The UI Settings tab includes options to customize notification text and behavior.

Who It’s For

Useful for motion designers who frequently need to share single frames with clients, capture reference stills from comps, or create preview images. Also practical for editors who export frames for thumbnails or social media posts without switching to Photoshop.

Pricing
