What It Does

smartLib organizes Nuke projects and shots in a centralized management panel. Instead of navigating file systems manually, you browse projects, filter shots by status, and open working files directly from the interface. Teams can share shot status updates and notes, making it easier to track progress across multiple artists.

The tool creates new shots from templates you define, including preset folder structures, write node configurations, and render paths.

Key Features

Project and shot navigation. Jump between projects and shots without leaving Nuke. Bookmark frequently used projects for quick access.

Shot status tracking. Mark shots as in progress, complete, or any custom status you define. Sort and filter shots by status, search by name.

Team notes. Write notes on individual shots. Other artists using smartLib see updates in real time, helping coordinate handoffs and revisions.

Shot templates. Build reusable templates with folder hierarchies, default formats, and automatic write nodes. Bulk create multiple shots at once by entering comma-separated names.

Sequence cuts. Launch sequence cuts directly from smartLib. Import media from designated footage directories with a single command.

Render path control. Configure render directories per shot or globally. Set custom paths outside the shot folder if your pipeline requires it.

Who It’s For

Compositors juggling multiple projects and frequent shot changes. Teams that need shared visibility into shot progress. Pipeline TDs setting up standardized shot structures.

Particularly useful if you switch between different shows daily or work in environments where multiple artists touch the same shots.
