What It Does
Sheetah converts After Effects compositions into single spritesheet files. Built for game artists working in 2D or 3D, it exports your animation as a grid of frames in PNG, TGA, or TIFF format with alpha channels included. The script also lets you create custom animation sequences by controlling which frames play in what order.
Key Features
Automatic grid calculation. Sheetah analyzes your comp and determines the optimal number of rows and columns for the spritesheet layout. No manual setup required.
Three export formats. Choose PNG, TGA, or TIFF depending on your pipeline. All formats include the alpha channel.
Custom animation sequences. After exporting a spritesheet, use the Animation Tools to generate frame playback orders. Add a Slider Control to a wrapped composition, keyframe which frames appear when, then export the sequence as comma-separated values or a .txt file. Useful for game engines that need specific frame order definitions (like 1,2,2,2,3,3,4,5).
Dockable panel. The UI panel sits alongside your other After Effects windows. The script remembers your last export format.
Dimension attachment. Frame width and height are embedded in the filename using the pattern {comp_name}_#[{width},{height}].{extension}.
Version 2.2 added support for power-of-two textures and manual row/column overrides. The script also checks if your comp exceeds maximum dimensions and warns you before export.
Who It’s For
Game developers and motion designers preparing animations for 2D or 3D game engines. Anyone who needs to batch export frames as a single texture atlas instead of an image sequence.
