Screen Saver Exporter converts After Effects and Premiere Pro compositions directly into installable screensaver packages for Windows and macOS. The plugin handles the technical packaging, produces cross-platform installers, and lets you distribute commercial screensavers without dealing with low-level system integration.
Key Features
One-click installer generation. The plugin exports to ready-to-distribute installers (.msi for Windows, native packages for macOS) that handle installation automatically. Your clients get a simple double-click install instead of manual file placement.
Cross-platform export from either OS. Export Windows screensavers from macOS, or macOS screensavers from Windows. Both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs are supported. The exported packages work on Windows XP through Windows 11, and macOS 10.10 through macOS 15 (Sequoia).
Commercial licensing built in. The screensaver engine uses patent-unencumbered video and audio codecs, so you can sell the exported screensavers without licensing restrictions.
Multiple monitor support. The exported screensavers handle multi-monitor setups correctly and work with Windows Power & Sleep settings.
Format options. Export as full installers (.msi) or raw .scr files. Choose between stretch mode (fills screen) or fit mode (preserves aspect ratio). A high-quality export option reduces compression artifacts.
Version 2.0 introduced an Apple Silicon native engine that cuts CPU usage by 10x and significantly reduces file sizes. The included UpgradeSavers.app converts existing exports to the new engine.
