What It Does

Scene Clip organizes your After Effects compositions by creating visual scene catalogs with thumbnails and comments. Jump between scenes with a single click instead of scrubbing through the timeline. Export scene lists to share with team members, who can import them and see the same scene breakdowns.

Key Features

Thumbnail snapshots. Tag specific layers or moments in your comp to create visual reference points. Each snapshot stores a thumbnail of the current frame along with any notes you add.

Comment system. Add text notes to each scene to document what’s happening, flag issues, or leave instructions for collaborators. Comments can also be added to composition markers (CC 2017 and later).

Export and import. Save scene lists as external files to share with other editors. When someone imports your scene list, they see the same thumbnails, comments, and navigation points you created, useful for remote teams or client reviews.

Poster time control. Set the poster frame for each scene to ensure thumbnails show exactly what you want.

Footage support. Version 3.0 added the ability to catalog footage items, not just compositions.

Who It’s For

Useful for editors working on long compositions with multiple scenes or sections. If you’re collaborating with other artists, the export/import feature helps maintain consistent scene references across team members without manual setup.

Pricing

Pay what you want. The developer offers this as a name-your-own-price plugin. The suggested price is $24.99, but you set the amount when purchasing. One-time payment, no subscription.
