What It Does
Save Objects 2 stores After Effects compositions, layers, and properties for reuse in other projects. Instead of rebuilding common setups or hunting through old projects, you save the element once with a live preview, then apply it anywhere. The extension automatically collects referenced files and fonts, so your saved items work without missing dependencies.
Key Features
Compositions and layers. Save entire comps or individual layers (cameras, lights, text, shapes, nulls, adjustment layers) with animated or static previews. Select multiple compositions and batch save them with GIF previews in one click. Files and fonts get collected automatically using After Effects’ Collect Files method.
Presets, markers, and masks. Select effects or properties and save them as presets. Save markers with editable values and offset controls. Save masks with adjustable scale, rotation, and offset before applying.
Keyframe interpolation and expressions. Store keyframe timing and easing curves for reuse. Save expressions with the ability to edit code before applying. The extension includes a starter pack of common expressions (wiggle variations, bounce, loop, blink).
Fonts and JSX scripts. Save text layer fonts with previews, then apply them across all layers in a pre-comp. Store custom JSX scripts for one-click execution. A free addon package includes ready-made scripts and layers.
Folder structure and search. Organize saved items in nested folders. The search engine scans all categories and source paths, including shared network folders for team libraries.
Media browser. Preview and import After Effects projects, presets, video, audio, images, and fonts directly from the panel.
Who It’s For
Useful for motion designers who reuse common setups (lower thirds, text animation rigs, camera moves), teams sharing standardized elements, or anyone building a personal library of frequently used compositions and presets.
