What It Does

Rift manipulates layer timing properties across multiple selected layers. Instead of manually shifting in/out points or staggering keyframes one layer at a time, you can sequence them over time, offset by intervals, or randomize within a range. All controls live in a single compact panel.

Key Features

Independent property control. Move in points, out points, source start frames, markers, and keyframes separately. You’re not locked into shifting everything at once.

Scrubber-aware operations. Apply changes only to properties before, after, or within range of the current time indicator. Useful when you need to adjust just part of an animation without touching the rest.

Sequencing with easing. Distribute layers across a specified duration using linear, ease in, ease out, or ease both timing functions. An expo field controls the strength of non-linear curves.

Stagger and randomize. Offset layers by a fixed interval or scatter them within a min/max range. Handy for creating varied motion without manual tweaking.

Smart time input. Type “1s” for seconds, “1f” for frames, “1m” for minutes. The script converts units automatically instead of forcing you to calculate frame counts.

Who It’s For

Motion designers building sequences with many similar layers (like kinetic typography or tiled animations) where manual timing adjustments would be tedious. Also useful for anyone working with audio sync markers or setting up complex stagger effects.
