What It Does
ReTrack loads tracking data from multiple After Effects sources (3D camera tracking, mocha, tracker points, masks, face tracking) and lets you combine them into new tracks. Draw temporary selection masks on generated point clouds to rebuild missing data, retrack offscreen targets, or estimate motion where tracking failed.
The Edit tool adds a virtual keyframing layer above tracked data. Instead of adjusting every tracked keyframe, you edit the overall motion path. This works for masks, corner pins, tracker points, mocha data, layer transforms, and any 2D effect properties.
Key Features
Auto Rebuild. Select existing tracked data and choose between Position (for horizontal and vertical motion) or Perspective (for rotation, scale, and skew). ReTrack automatically fills in missing keyframes.
The Track Tool. Load data from camera tracking solids, masks, tracker points, face tracking, and mocha. Draw selection masks on the point cloud to isolate specific motion. Output to masks, corner pins, transforms, nulls, or 3D nulls.
The Edit Tool. Adjust tracked items without touching individual keyframes. Version 2 operates on keyframes directly and supports trimmed and shifted layers. Supports masks, corner pins, tracker points, mocha data, layer transforms, and selected effect properties. Note: version 2 edit data is not backward compatible with version 1.
Convert tracked data directly. Turn existing tracking into different formats (tracker points to nulls, masks to corner pins, etc.) without retracking.
Perspective tracked masks. Track masks in perspective, including skew and rotation.
3D camera motion to nulls. Transfer 3D camera tracking data to 3D null objects.
Who It’s For
VFX artists working with difficult tracking shots: off-screen targets, partial data, or tracks that fail partway through. Also useful for rotoscoping workflows where you need to refine mask motion or combine tracking sources.
