What It Does
Reka Grid generates grid arrays where each point becomes an instance of a parametric shape. You define the grid layout (regular, hexagonal, or custom patterns via scripting), then control how each shape instance looks and moves. The plugin renders grids in real-time using GPU acceleration, keeping compositions responsive even with hundreds of shapes.
Key Features
Parametric shapes. Choose from triangles, rectangles, circles, stars, or custom Y/X shapes. Adjust any parameter of the shape and animate it using noise or custom layers.
Grid types. Start with regular or hexagonal layouts, then use scripts to create spirals, sine waves, or phyllotaxis patterns. Animate grid parameters with noise or layer-driven values.
Instance control. Each grid point is an independent instance. Control radius, rotation angle, position offset, color, and alpha individually or as a group. Rotate instances by 90 degrees with a script, animate rotation angles from a layer’s edge midpoint, or apply noise-based rotation.
Scripting system. Write scripts to edit any parameter for groups or individual elements. Hide specific grid elements, set custom rotation angles, assign colors from a list, or build entirely custom distributions. The plugin includes script samples and documentation.
3D and camera support. Work in 3D space with Z-depth controls, AE camera integration, and billboard mode. Add fog, render Z-depth passes, or use sprites.
Ramps and gradients. Apply ramp and gradient controls across the grid. Useful for creating color transitions or value falloffs.
