What It Did
Quick Preview was built to solve a common problem: slow preview rendering in complex After Effects projects. Instead of manually toggling dozens of layers, effects, or masks on and off, you could organize them into groups and disable entire sets with a single click. When you finished working on a specific section, you turned everything back on just as quickly.
Key Features
Four customizable groups. Organize layers, effects, or masks into up to four separate groups. Each group could contain elements from any comp in your project, including items buried deep in pre-comp hierarchies.
Cross-comp support. Add layers, effects, or masks from multiple comps to the same group. Useful for projects with nested pre-comps where related elements lived in different places.
Save and load groups. Groups persisted between sessions. Close After Effects, reopen your project, hit Load, and your groups were ready to use again.
Auto-cleanup. If you deleted a layer, effect, or mask that was in a group, the refresh button updated the list automatically.
Who It Was For
Motion designers working on heavy projects with lots of layers, nested pre-comps, or intensive effects. Particularly useful during iterative work when you needed to preview only a portion of your comp without rendering everything.
Pricing
Quick Preview sold for $99.99 as a one-time purchase before being discontinued. Last updated for After Effects CC 2015.
