What It Does

When you import Photoshop compositions into After Effects, text layers arrive as rasterized images. Converting them manually creates problems: scales balloon to 837% instead of 100%, and After Effects parents animations to the original layer instead of transferring them to the new text layer.

Ps Text Converter solves both issues with a two-button interface.

Key Features

Convert. Turns Photoshop layers into editable After Effects text while preserving Position, Scale, Rotation, and Anchor Point animations. The script also transfers mask animations, placing everything at the original coordinates. You can choose to delete the source layers or keep them as backup.

FixScale. Normalizes text scale to 100% after using After Effects’ built-in “Convert to Editable Text” command. This button handles masks but doesn’t process keyframes, so it’s meant for static text or one-time fixes rather than animated conversions.

Who It’s For

Motion designers who regularly import Photoshop comps with animated text will save time on every project. The script handles what would otherwise be tedious manual work: re-animating each text layer or calculating the correct scale values.

Pricing

Pay-what-you-want with a suggested minimum of $9.99. Individual users can choose their price; commercial teams must pay the suggested amount for a valid license.
