What It Does

PQ Type Boi provides a library of over 120 pre-animated type arrangements that you can browse and apply directly inside After Effects. The plugin includes a UI panel with animated thumbnails showing each preset in action. When you click a thumbnail, it generates a new composition with a control layer that lets you adjust parameters like color, line width, and animation delay without digging through individual layers.

The plugin is expression-driven, which means you can fine-tune masks and animation timing after generation. It’s built for motion designers who need text animations quickly but still want control over the final result.

Key Features

120+ Pre-animated Arrangements. The library includes a wide range of type animation styles, from simple kinetic type to more complex textural effects. Each preset is shown as an animated thumbnail in the panel.

Control Layer System. Generated comps include a dedicated control layer with exposed parameters. You can change colors, adjust line weights, shift animation timing, and tweak other properties without opening expression controls or navigating nested layers.

Expression-Driven Masks. All animations use expressions, so masks remain editable. You can adjust bezier paths, timing curves, and other animation properties after generation.

UI Panel. The dockable panel lives inside After Effects and lets you browse the entire library visually. No need to import project files or guess what a preset looks like.

Who It’s For

This is useful for motion designers who handle title sequences, social media graphics, or any project where text animation appears repeatedly. If you find yourself building similar type treatments from scratch, having a library of starting points can speed up early layout stages. Once you identify a few favorite presets, they become quick go-to options for everyday work.

Pricing

PQ Type Boi uses pay-what-you-want pricing. You decide what to pay, making it accessible regardless of budget. The plugin works with After Effects CC 2018 and later, including 2026.
