What It Does
Number Maker generates animated numerical displays in After Effects. The plugin converts properties, timelines, or marker positions into formatted text layers with live number updates. Useful for HUD elements, infographics, progress indicators, and any project where values need to be visible on screen.
Key Features
By Time mode animates numbers based on the timeline position. Set a target value and the number counts up or down as the playhead moves.
By Speed mode changes numbers at a defined rate per second instead of linking to specific timeline points.
By Marker mode uses composition markers to trigger number changes, letting you sync values to specific events in your edit.
Follow Property links the text to any layer property (position, rotation, opacity, expression results). The displayed number updates when the property changes.
Map Range remaps input values to different output ranges. A property value of 0-100 can display as 0-360 for rotation displays or 0-10 for simplified readouts.
Multiplier and Offset controls adjust the final value mathematically after all other calculations.
Number formatting includes custom prefixes, suffixes, decimal places, and symbol options (%, $, units). The plugin handles commas, leading zeros, and padding through the formatting panel.
All settings remain editable through layer controls after creation. Changes update in real time without re-running the script.
Who It’s For
Motion designers building UI animations or data visualizations. Useful for anyone creating progress bars, countdown timers, speedometers, or statistics displays where numbers need to animate or respond to other layer properties.
