What It Does
Network Clipboard lets you copy After Effects layers, compositions, cameras, lights, and geometry from one project and paste them directly into someone else’s scene across your network. Select what you want, hit copy, and any team member can paste it into their active comp. No more exporting reduced projects or relying on shared project files.
The tool works across After Effects, Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Maya. You can paste items into a project file or drop them straight into the active composition. All animation data travels with the copied elements.
Key Features
Cross-application support. Copy from After Effects and paste into Cinema 4D, Houdini, or Maya (and vice versa). FBX support handles geometry transfer between applications.
Copy history. The plugin stores every item you copy for as long as you want. You can scroll back and paste something from earlier in the session without re-copying it.
Direct paste options. Choose whether to paste into the project panel or directly into your active composition. Skips the usual import dialogs.
Custom clipboard directory. Set a shared network location using an environment variable so everyone in your studio accesses the same clipboard data. Also works through Dropbox or other cloud sync services.
Username override. Change the username attached to your copies if you’re working under different accounts or sharing workstations.
Floating license support. Studios can deploy licenses across multiple machines without tying them to individual users.
Who It’s For
Designed for studios where multiple artists collaborate on the same project. Useful when one person builds a camera rig, another animates a character, and someone else composes the final scene. Instead of coordinating project file handoffs, anyone can grab what they need when they need it.
Also practical for solo artists working across multiple applications. If you model in Cinema 4D and comp in After Effects, you can move elements between them without intermediate file exports.
